"Emptied Words" employs a similar strategy as the previous track, but with a text that, unlike the snappy political slogan, was meant to be empty from the start. It is a cut-up text found in a spam e-mail that the vocalist tries to read as if it had a sentence structure. (A code is applied that does not really work on the text – the result is relational noise.) The text is intended as white noise, a stochastically constructed assemblage of lexical fields aimed at bypassing spam filters that are programmed to look for specific words or clusters thereof. Possibly against the sender’s intention, the resulting collage offers chain-association of a highly poetic character. Yet this crossing-over from noise into meaning is subverted on the sonic level by the voice crossing over into noise.

"Emptied Words" folgt einer ähnlichen Methode wie das vorige Stück, aber im Unterschied zum knackigen Polit-Slogan war der hier verwendete Text von vornherein auf semantische Leere angelegt. Es handelt sich um einen Cut-up-Text, den ich in einer Spam-E-Mail fand und so zu lesen versuche, als hätte er eine Satzstruktur. (Es wird ein Code angewendet, der bei dem Text nicht wirklich funktioniert, deshalb entsteht aus der Beziehung von Code und Text eben „Geräusch“.) Der Text ist als weißes Rauschen intendiert, als eine mit stochastischen Mitteln konstruierte Zusammenstellung von Wortfeldern, mit deren Hilfe die Mail Spam-Filter überlisten soll, die nach bestimmten Wörtern oder Wortkombinationen suchen. Dass die dabei entstandene Collage höchst poetische Assoziationsketten hervorbringt, ist vermutlich gegen die Absicht des Absenders. Aber diese Grenzüberschreitung vom Geräusch zur Bedeutung wird auf der klanglichen Ebene auch wieder dadurch unterlaufen, dass die Stimme ins Geräusch übergeht.
