Für die Einspielung der (Farb-) Töne wurde eine 10-minütige Zeitleiste auf das Bild projiziert und die Töne von links nach rechts auf einem Synthesizer gespielt. Die Umsetzung der schwarzen Elemente in (von Minute zu Minute wechselnde) Klangeffekte erfolgt mit dem Kaoss Pad, einem Effektgerät, auf dem sich grafische Gesten mit der Hand nachzeichnen lassen. Dabei werden die schwarzen Bereiche 5 Minuten lang von links nach rechts und weitere 5 Minuten lang von oben nach unten näherungsweise „nachgezeichnet“.
For the recording of the colour-based tones, a 10-minute time scale was projected onto the picture. Then the tones were played from left to right on a synthesizer. The black elements were translated into sound effects (the type of which changed every minute) by means of the Kaoss Pad. On this effects device, graphical gestures can be traced with the fingers. During the first 5 minutes of the piece, the black shapes were scanned from left to right, during the next five minutes they were traced, as far as possible, from top to bottom.
