This picture too is being played from left to right according to a timeline. Thus the sounds for yellow and red are only audible for a short time as they only occupy small areas of the painting. For every colour a randomised frequency generator was created in the Pure Data programming language. The range of possible frequencies for each is defined by the pitch related to the respective colours in the circle of colours. The white, which is not related to any pitch of its own, is represented by the principle of randomisation itself. A non-colour in itself, it nonetheless has the power to modulate all the other colours. The rate of change between tones from the oscillators is higher for the colours that come in more dynamic gestures. Thus, dark green and dark blue change their tones rather slowly, because they tend to run through the picture in a rather regular horizontal line. The tones for light green change faster because the light green shows more variation of direction. Progressing from left to right, the picture tends toward more parallel shapes. Accordingly, the rates of change slow down over time.
